AI Agents Industry Share and Forecast, 2024–2035
And the market? It’s exploding. According to Roots Analysis, the global AI agents market is expected to go from USD 5.29 billion in 2024 to a whopping USD 216.8 billion by 2035. That’s a CAGR of 40.15%. I mean, that’s bonkers. It’s not just hype — there’s real momentum here.
Of course, it's not all sunshine. Some agents still get stuck, hallucinate stuff, or make weird choices if you’re not careful. And yeah, letting software act semi-independently brings up all sorts of questions — like, how do you audit it? What happens if it goes off-script? And how do we make sure it's actually helping people, not just pretending to?
But still… something about it feels like a shift. Not just another tech upgrade. A shift. Like we’re handing off some of the “figuring out” part of work, not just the repetitive tasks. And for someone like me — juggling ten tabs, five projects, and way too many Slack pings — that’s kind of appealing.
So yeah, I think AI agents are going to be a big deal. Maybe not in a “robots take over” kind of way, but more in a “this changes how we work” kind of way. And I’m curious to see where it goes next — cautiously optimistic, if that makes sense.
